Painting for Art Critique

Describe: This painting is a suicide painting. The man who is lying in a bed seems to have shot himself and there is blood all over the right side of the painting. There are also a few spots on the floor.
Analyze: There are a few geometric shapes and the rest are organic. There are lots of lines that are horizontal, vertical and diagonal. The texture looks rough and 3-dimensional. The color is very dark and depressing.
Interpret: I think the artist was in a very bad mood and was expressing his feelings. He might have had a slight case of depression or suicidal thoughts. Or that was him after he painting the picture. The painter has an interesting way of expressing his thoughts.
Judge: I would never ever ever hang this painting in my house ever! It is too depressing and suckish. If you do hang this up in your house you need to get some help.

Melodrama

It is a form of drama that does not emphasis on cause and effect but exaggerates emotions, plots, and actions of the characters.Situations normally found in melodramas are music during the climax scenes and usually the dramatic piece ends with a happy ending.

SPRING BREAK 2011!

Spring break sucked this year!!! I did nothing fun and exciting except on Thursday night Taryn, Marisa, Lindsey, Kelsey, Jonah, Jacob, Dutch, Zach O and I all went to Buffalo Wild Wings. We ate dinner there and then walked to the mall parking lot and on the way over there I dropped my phone. Actually it fell out of my pocket and my kind friends Taryn and Jacob picked up the pieces to my phone. Since my phone is sooo indestructible it didn't break at all. Then we crossed Federica and went to Wal-Mart. Then Dutch and Zach O. decided that they wanted to be racecar drivers and got in a cart. Jonah was the driver. Jacob also joined them in the "racecar". Then a few moments later the parking lot watcher drove over to us smoking and told us to leave and that we were band from Wal-Mart. So we walked over to Target but it was closed so we decided to go to Shoe Carnival which was closed also and then we called our rides to take us home. That was pretty much the highlight of my Spring Break. I went to Knoxville on Sunday. My brother, dad, and I drove to Pigeon Forge. We went to the Nascar place there but when we got there the credit card machine broke so we waited for about 10 minutes and then grew impatient so we left. Then we drove around the University of Tennessee. When we first reached the campus we were on Gay street. That was the most exciting part of the trip. Then for the rest of the spring break I sat at home and pretty much did nothing except worked on my AP Euro homework that we had. This was one of the most boringest/interesting Spring Breaks I have ever had.

Neoclassical vs. Romanticism

I see a monster type thing eating a baby. It alomost looks like a human that is covered in a whole bunch of hair who is disturbed with himelf.
The artist used lots of shapes and lines. The color is very dark and dull. The value is dark.
I feel the overall mood is dark and depressed. I feel like the artist was disturbed with someone or himself. It looks like the artist was trying to display death and murder.
I would definately not put this anywhere in my house or room. It creates a negative energy and sadness.
This is Romanticism because it shows lots of emotion, the subject is violent, and the brushstrokes are very visible.

I see a man who has died from writing. It looks as if someone stabbed him or he took his own life.
The artist used many lines and shapes. Some being curved and some being straight. The value is light and the colors used are not very bright.
The overall mood is serene. The death of the fellow writer is sad but he seems so peaceful.
I might hang this up in the bathroom. But I am not the biggest fan of this painting.
This is Neoclassicism because the tone is calm, the techniques have no color or brushstrokes, and the composition only consist of one figure(person) in the foreground.

I agree because I am very logical. I am a concrete person because I don't like to think that something is right without an explanation. I have to see it to believe it. The left brain has to do with being logical, critical, and ordered. Being right brained means that you are creative and visual and spontaneous. I think this test was pretty accurate and I agree with most of it.

Mozart's Death

Mozart died from rheumatic fever. This means that he got a high blood temperature. A custom in those times was to drain his blood, and he might survive. He got weaker and weaker until he died. Others believe that since his last composition was a funeral dirge, the patron's messenger checked up on the song every week wore a mask. It is thought that while they were having tea the messenger poisoned Mozart so that they would receive his composition and claim that they wrote it, and rob him. Also, they have evidence that another composer may have murdered him. The other composer was jealous that Mozart had it all, so he hated him. And so they have letters and old documents saying the other composer wished Mozart was dead.
